The values taught through Jesus’ kingdom turns the world values upside down. The demands of building that kingdom would entail a lot more that what we could imagine. Jesus cautions then: “do you not know what you are asking?” Not until the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles did the remarkable transformation take place and the rest was history. History would reveal that except for John, the disciple whom Jesus loved, all the rest of the apostles died a “martyrs’ death”. The cup which Jesus drank, which his followers must drink and the baptism which Jesus was baptized, we must also be baptized.

With God’s grace everything is possible. As we go about our Christian vocation, do we often rely on our own effort and understanding or do we humbly ask and faithfully cooperate with God’s Spirit to transform us and our Christian Community?

Finally, we pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most.

Have a good day!
