ACTS 20:28-38
JOHN 17:11-19

Jesus came to complete the Revelation of God to His people through his words, miracles, compassion and loving care, courage and justice. This revelation was culminated in his final act of love on the cross. There is no other that comes close in comparison to him. Jesus is the Absolute, Total and Perfect reflection of God brought about in a form that we, as human beings, can relate to. That is why Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Yet he knows that after his departure from earth there will be many “pretenders to the throne”, “wolves in sheep clothing”, that would seek to destroy that which he had started.

How then could Jesus’ longing to remain with his disciples after he has left be addressed? How could he extend that life of Love which he had shared with his apostles? How could he share the eternal unity of his Love with us who are finite? The answer is the “Eucharist” which he instituted at the Last Supper, which brought the meaning of the Passover meal to a higher level of continuing revelation, one that is not just ritualized but lived.

We live in an environment with practices, values and mindsets that are counter to our Christian values. Although the Gospel of Christ continues to be celebrated through the Eucharist, God’s graces can be appreciated only if we are willing to accept Jesus wholeheartedly, mind, heart, body and soul. Have we done that?

Finally, we pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most.

Have a good day!
